Fairness & Impartiality: Fairness and overall impartiality was sorely lacking in a case that had taken over 6 yrs to resolve due to litigation abuse by the other party. Chancellor Newsom could have closed this case down for good, but did not. Judicial Temperament: He can come across as rude, especially when he doesn’t need to be. Communication: Fails to explain his reasoning in decisions. Shelby Co. judges have a bad habit of risking appeals doing stupid things like this. Timeliness: He waited several months and let one case drag on and failed to make a final decision which costs this family their peace for a long time. This was unnecessary.
