Civil Legal Knowledge: Presented as well-rounded and knowledgeable in legal aspects and demonstrated ability to compare and determine if and where local laws and statutes intersected, interfered, or contradicted federal laws and constitutional rights, as well as policy and procedures. Fairness & Impartiality: Fairness and impartiality was top- notch. Judge Goldberg's ability to remain neutral and demonstrate what could best be described as what seems to be the rare ability to play 'Devil's advocate' when listening to both parties' arguments, which surely assisted in his ability to remain and appear unbias. Within the same context, I would add that Judge Goldberg showed characteristics that I would personally describe as sincerity. He was actively participating and demonstrated active listening skills. In conjunction, he demonstrated higher capabilities (perhaps even unknowingly) in intellect and independent thought; Judge Goldberg didn't just listen to both sides...He considered each statement by each party...He contemplated everything he heard. He contemplated literally everything prior to acting and ruling. What may be most impressive is the fact that this particular case was a civil case of what most people in this location would consider as no-big-deal, or even describe as a waste of time, unnecessary or un-worthy of Judicial attention and time. Those sane people wouldn't be wrong, but they also might have diminished capability in the traits being highlighted here, or general perspective and possibilities. Yes, this is a common and routine civil issue and could/should of been considered a very routine proceeding and administration. Honestly, even I partially expected judicial auto-pilot decisions and behaviors. That my issue would be unheard and I'd be brushed aside with a pre-determined outcome as part of 'routine'. However, my own perspectives from my own experiences and critical thinking determined that there was a sliver of a chance for something more, or the chance to create positive change; it was not only worth it, it was refreshing in a sense of restoring a little bit more of faith I had lost in the entire system. I was not treated as a number, my case was not treated/reacted to as routine in positive ways. I was not treated or made to feel like money was top-priority by this Judge and even others involved. Due to unfortunate circumstances, extreme and multiple errors, deficits, neglect, ignorance, or the unspoken and taboo things to mention, I have been subjected to numerous events and encounters at local levels, with multiple local judges, multiple courts, and entities over the last few years. I still grapple daily as to whether or not justice really exists, but Judge Goldberg is certainly one of the people I'd credit within the system who is capable of truly acting honorable. I'll admit that this Judge left an impact on me as far as providing real-life experience and true understanding of why legal terms like "deliberation" and "consideration" exist or what the intention upon the creation really was. How frequent proceedings and events created a 'routine' or knowing (but never acceptance) that there was and can be no lawful or true rulings without active listening, participation, consideration of all parties, and thoughtful deliberation prior to decisions by a qualified Judge. If any part of any of this review resonates, you should know that there is a Judge, or maybe even a few, and maybe others in the field that work in Delco that are willing to listen to you; take a chance. You might find that there are some that will rule on facts and have the ability to act without bias. That there are some that may even hear your truth and you story and guide, refer, or assist you in creating positive change or shining light in dark areas that this county needs. Even if it's only changes in policies or procedure, any action can provide a map for others to find and follow. Even if you fail, your actions can pave the way to enable justice in the future. [Delco Disclosure- I'm NOT paid, promoted, gifted, bought, threatened, bribed, employed, friends, related, or affiliated to anyone involved in this proceeding or my review of this Judge and Court and have not been compensated in any way or even encouraged to write this review] Judicial Temperament: Excellent. Was professional without being egotistical. Had extensive patience with me, and I imagine that must of been difficult given my involuntary interruptions or explanations. I've become accustomed to being silenced or ignored so I often interrupt, blurt, or speak in what may initially be interpreted as unorganized fashion. I'm aware of how annoying it is and he showed patience while I did it and was never disrespectful, aggressive, or demanding. He seemed grounded and calm, but manages the authoritative role at the same time. Communication: Perfect for me. I'm someone who appreciates line-of-thought. It's easier for me to understand statements, directions, decisions, plans, and answer questions honestly if I know or can follow how we arrived wherever we are. He very clearly did that verbally and at one point created an illustration, which also helped my communication and understanding, without making me feel dumb, weak, or inferior for needing it. I didn't even need to ask for illustration so I'd say expert communication level. Timeliness: Excellent. I think I might of been a few minutes late and he wasn't mean about it at all and didn't use it against me, to justify attitude, as reason for bias, or be any level of mean to me for if, which I appreciate more than I can or could express. Even spent time off the record to engage in discussion between parties on how and what policies, procedures, laws could be implemented to prevent future instances and genuinely caring about process breakdown. Timely ruling on the spot while still taking necessary time to consider and think before ruling. Also, received mailing with decision within appropriate time (days) compared to every other court which is never or months and even a year later.
