Case involved custody trial between father and grandmother Legal Knowledge: Judge Wren had excellent legal knowledge to navigate through a complex case involving father (who did not have custody) and grandmother who had temporary custody Fairness & Impartiality: Judge heard from children, whom he had appointed their own attorney, father, grandmother, and grandmothers lawyer and children’s lawyer. His ability to navigate through father’s long history of mendacious behavior in other courts and weigh it against the words of his children, meant a positive outcome for grandmother. judge left way forward for both parents to connect with parents. mother has… father has not Judicial Temperament: Judge managed to maintain even temper despite numerous examples and testimony of fathers lies and malconduct. Though stern, JudgecWren tolerated fathers conduct until the very end when security was called. Communication: Having watched father prevail with cunning and deceit with Vancouver Court, this judge was measured, calm and exceedingly articulate about the facts in the case.
