I was stalked and cornered in various rooms of my home for HOURS with a continuing argument after perpetrator committed child abuse breaking the arm of our 9 year old. At the point that the order of protection was asked for, father had been arrested for DV against child. I was fearing my life was in danger, but Walch told me verbal threats and everything that happened were not enough because he didn't put hands on me that night and stalking me around the house doesn't count. When I involuntarily started to tear up, (but was not hysterical I was still speaking normally, just wiped my eyes!), she verbally ridiculed me and asked me why I was crying. Geez lady because I'm in fear of my life and it's clear I'm not going to have any help? she then encouraged me to withdraw my petition, and the bailiff ridiculed made fun of and laughed at me as he walked me out of court. if a man telling you that you won't make it till tomorrow and then following up the stairs and trying to force his way through the door to your bedroom after cornering you in the house verbally yelling at you for hours is not enough to qualify for orders of protection, then I don't think she understands the law.
