Judge Shumate abuse of power is shocking. I was notified my spouse was having an affair with an employee at our company, Heartland Communications. My spouse chased me then slammed the door on my arm and held me captive until I screamed for help. The ongoing affair ended her daughters marriage and mine is tied up in court. Random, July 2026, 1 year after the separation I receive a unsigned summons from 2016 for a bad check of $45. I went to court, and who is my presiding judge. Mrs. Shumate. I am in the middle of a criminal case against my spouse, a divorce case, and our family was devastated by what her daughter and my husband are doing. Shumate also signed off on a criminal court proceeding involving my spouse. She over steps her bounds and should have never been the judge overseeing my case. She is corrupt and uses her seat for control.

Legal Knowledge: Doesn't follow correct protocol for investigation of evidence, nor gives opportunities to post bail when charged. Fairness & Impartiality: Facebook friends with other court employees below her. Will use bias when said employees are with opposing party and favor them over facts. Judicial Temperament: not kind, and highly unprofessional given she will be buddies with lower constituents. Communication: reads off the script she is given Timeliness: pushes off hearing dates that she rather not deal with.

Fairness & Impartiality: Judge Shumate treats everyone with respect. Judicial Temperament: If one was to look up “judicial temperament” in the dictionary, it would have a picture of Judge Shumate. It’s not possible to shock her… I’ve tried. Communication: If someone leaves her courtroom without a clear understanding of what happened and what’s supposed to happen next, it’s because that person didn’t listen. Judge Shumate might be the most thorough judge I’ve ever appeared before.

Legal Knowledge: Gave my toddlers rapist three days in detention for first degree sodomy! then let the juvenile teenage rapist off supervision satisfactory after the juvenile got additional misdemeanor charges. this judge let the teenage rapist be put back with the same family members that let the rapist be abused through their childhood and didn’t protect them or report it. I’m sure we will see a repeat of behavior. we are up to possibly 7 victims now and animals. Schumate gave this teenager some therapy, three days in detention, and a short stay at a group home… that’s it! there is no cure for pedophiles… this teen has all his records sealed and no one will know what he is capable of! during this case the teen bragged about raping toddlers!
