DVO Hearing Legal Knowledge: Judge Blair was fair and non biased in my opinion as a party in the DVO case. He took the time to listen and explain what this would mean for both parties in this case. I have appeared more than once in front of him and he has been calm and collected in each of the appearances. I have also seen him recind the DVO Order so the parties could have an opportunity to work together and with counseling to make the situation better for all parties. Fairness & Impartiality: Giving parties the opportunity to work together on the issues that brought them before him. Judicial Temperament: I have never seen this Judge rattled by a case. I’m sure it might have happened just not in my experience. Communication: Judge Blair is able to explain details in a way that doesn’t make anyone feel less than a person. This is a rare quality. Timeliness: His decisions and Judgments are made quickly and timely after he has heard from both sides. Most judges make you wait 7-14 days before you know anything.

It is difficult to summarize the exact type of case because of the unusual circumstances surrounding it. My case lasted approximately eight years and spanned several events, including delays during the COVID period, which created significant confusion and prolonged the process before reaching a resolution. During that time, I appeared before this court in multiple contexts, including a jury trial where the Commonwealth represented me. I did appreciate the judge stepping in at one point when another attorney became overly aggressive during cross-examination. While I did not always receive the outcome I hoped for in other matters before this court, I have respected judges who follow the law as they see it, even when I disagree with the result.
