Judge Samantha Ruiz Cohen was presiding judge in a child support case between October 2022 and 2025. During that time she allowed a child support calculation that was known to have excluded state tax, city tax, and mandatory retirement salary deductions totaling over $1200 monthly. She used this calculation to enforce an $1100 per month child support order which was previously entered by Judge Scott Bernstein. She also executed two court orders without serving me any copies. She repeatedly refused to vacate orders which were known to omit pertinent information and then found me in contempt of court. Additionally, she sanctioned me to pay the opposing party attorney fees which exceeded $57000 for legal services rendered between October 2022 and April 2024, along with a purge payment of $3000. This is just a synopsis of what Judge Samantha Ruiz Cohen been allowed to do even after my former attorney Renita Henry admitted to omitting the three major salary deductions. Legal Knowledge: I would have give Judge Samantha Ruiz Cohen a negative star if it was possible because a 0 star is too high for her. I believe that she and Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida was penalizing me because I recognized due process and I was fighting to protect my rights. Fairness & Impartiality: I give her a negative star for fairness. There is no fairness when a judge knowingly execute an order by disregarding evidence that has been presented. Judicial Temperament: Judge Samantha Ruiz Cohen is not suitable to be a judge. She needs to be disqualified. However, the Judicial Qualification Commission has endorsed her actions even though they violate not only judicial canons but civil and criminal laws. Communication: Though I presented evidence of the omissions and personally highlighted the fact that line #18 and #22 monetary values on my financial affidavit were replaced by zero values on the child support worksheet, the judge and her coworkers failed to acknowledge this as a violation of Florida Statute 61.30. This is very statute that guides child support calculations. Timeliness: She executed two court orders but failed to serve me with copies. I saw the information displayed in the court docket and had to search to retrieve them.
