Hon. Burdick is phenomenal. A truly neutral judge. Pays a ton of attention to details and keeps in mind the best interest of the child. She admonished a litigant for his courtroom behavior (rolling eyes, sighing repeatedly, grimacing, smirking etc.) and put it on the record that such attitude plays against him in a DVRO hearing. She called out posturing and getting off the point so kept a sharp focus. She follows the laws and analyzes caselaws to a t. When making orders she spells out her reasoning very clearly and substantiates her decisions so well that proofs it in the appeal process. Overall, I had a great experience with her. She feels like a ray of light in a stinky swamp of San Mateo family court and I have seen in action all of the FC judges. I hope she goes on like that and doesn't allow to be intimidated by the corrupt machine that is San Mateo court.
