Division of property, support issues, imputation of income Legal Knowledge: This person is the most ignorant of laws out of the entire family court. She relies heavily on attorneys' application of law and does not think with her own head. So pro se litigants automatically lose against a party with an attorney. If the attorney says that a person who ignored a subpoena and never provided records needs to be paid sanctions by the party who issued a subpoena, then this so called judge will decide exactly like that. She also consults somebody outside of the courtroom during a 15-minute hearing, just gets up in the middle of it, leaves for 10-20 minutes, comes back and announces her ruling. And these are NOT regular morning or afternoon breaks. Fairness & Impartiality: She appears particularly biased against smart pro se women and women of Slavic descent. She muted an attorney with a Russian accent and schooled her like a child in front of an entire room of litigants and attorneys. Degradation was very apparent. She also has the lowest rate of granted DVROs filed by women. Judicial Temperament: Cadet sounds like a sweet woman with a voice that moves like molasses. But behind this faćade lies a temperamental personality who gets irrirated by minor things. Do not get tricked by her manner of speaking. This person is the opposite of nice. Timeliness: She scheduled a 3hr evidentiary DVRO hearing in 9 months while she had calendar availability much sooner. Meanwhile she denied a TRO so the victim was left with zero protections for 9 months which allowed an abuser to cause much more damage. I know this because in other cases she scheduled such hearings within 3-4 months. She also loves taking very long AM and PM breaks, much longer than 15-20 minutes which cuts down trial time.
