Family law matter involving custody and interstate jurisdiction issues. After the case was transferred, I attempted to raise concerns that the jurisdiction change may not have followed proper procedures under the UCCJEA. When I tried to address the issue in court, the concern was not fully heard or reviewed. Because the jurisdiction question was never resolved, I have been unable to maintain contact with my child since the transfer of the case.” Alternate version (slightly stronger but still professional): “Interstate custody case involving questions about the transfer of jurisdiction between states. I raised concerns that the jurisdiction change may have been improper and asked the court to review it. The issue was not substantively addressed during proceedings, and my attempts to clarify the jurisdiction question were not allowed to move forward. As a result, the underlying concern remained unresolved, and I have not been able to see or communicate with my child since the transfer. Legal Knowledge: I just wanted to be heard and to keep what I had and they all allowed it to be wrongfully taken and wouldn’t hear me on anything just threatened me with sanction if I kept filing and also allowed a lawyer who wasn’t other party’s attorney anymore to speak an file on the case to respond for child’s father Fairness & Impartiality: horrible experience and I miss my child a lot I can’t even get in contact with her nor know where she is exactly I get no answer on phone when I call I get ignored Judicial Temperament: horrible
